Mr Mohammed Munkailah
Regional Manager, Africa

Mr Mohammed Munkailah was appointed Regional Manager, Africa, for Volta Mining Limited in November 2011.
Mohammed reports to Volta Mining’s Managing Director, Mr David Sumich, and leads a team of two consisting of an Exploration Manager and a Database Manager. His primary responsibility will be the project management of Volta Mining’s exploration activities at its Dangue Gold Project in Burkina Faso, West Africa.
Mohammed has over 15 years’ experience in the exploration and development of mineral deposits, exclusively within West Africa.He was responsible for managing numerous exploration and development projects ranging from grass roots exploration management through to resource definition drilling throughout the region.
Most recently, Munkailah was Exploration Manager for DMC Mining Ltd’s Mayoko Iron Ore Project. With over seven (7) years international consulting experience with RSG/RSG Global including holding the position of Chief Geologist, West Africa, Mohammed gained considerable experience in project management and was instrumental in the development of a number of world class deposits variously located in Senegal, Burkina Faso and Ghana.
Munkailah is a member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists. He holds a Bachelor of Science with Hons (Physics and Geology) from the University of Ghana, Legon and is fluent in nine (9) languages including French and most West African dialects.

Ms Sarah Starick
Marketing Manager

Sarah Starick joined Volta Mining in September 2011 as Marketing Manager.
She is responsible for the planning and execution of Volta Mining’s marketing and communications activities in support of the company’s growth strategy.
Sarah has 13 years' international marketing and communications experience. From 2010 until 2011, she was Marketing Manager for the Financial Institutions & Public Sector business at ANZ based in Sydney.
Prior to that, Sarah spent nine (9) years in London working as an Assistant Vice President in the Marketing & Communications team for Deutsche Bank’s Global Transaction Banking division and was responsible for the planning and execution of marketing and communications activities across Europe, Asia and the Middle East for five business units within the Trust & Securities Services business.
Sarah began her career as a Marketing Coordinator for International Stone Company (ISC) a small Perth-based company that involved in the shipment of granite blocks from quarries around the world to processors and manufacturers across South-East Asia.
She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing) and a Bachelor of Arts (Asian Studies) from Curtin University of Technology in Perth, Western Australia.
